Jeffrey Harpham was born in Nottingham in 1943. After leaving school, he began his career as a photo litho artist where he developed his creative talents.

His paintings are both versatile in subject matter and medium. He paints both landscapes and marines with the introduction of the figurative, and works in gouache, oil and pastel. In certain compositions, he has combined mediums to assist in the heightening of colour.

During 1989 and 1990 he was an award winner at the Royal Society of marine Artists and in 1990 he was elected a full member of the Society.

He has exhibited widely and his paintings have been sold throughout Britain, the USA and South Africa. He is represented in many private collections including that of Lord and Lady Cerr of Melbourne Hall, Derbyshire.
